Born in 1972 in Lisbon, the city where he currently lives and works, this artist’s artistic journey is primarily focused on drawing and illustration. His work can be seen in publications for magazines and books, such as his contribution to Gertrude Stein’s literary work, “The World is Round”. In addition to using literature as a creative engine and basis for his work, he often appropriates pre-existing images and intervenes in them.
Since 1999, he has been exhibiting his work individually. Some notable collective exhibitions include: the Ariane de Rothschild Painting Award, Galveias Palace, Lisbon, 2005; the 1998 Selections Spring, Emerging artists, Drawing Center, New York, 1998; the 1997 Grammercy International Contemporary Art Fair, New York, 1997; and the Exhibition of Scholars and Finalists from Ar.Co, Lisbon, 1995 and 1996.
His work is part of the collection of Ar.Co – Center for Art and Visual Communication and Pedro Cabrita Reis Collection.
