Born in Lisbon in 1940, João Ferreira da Silva attended Liceu and Escola António Arroio. He studied drawing and painting with the renowned artist Joaquim Gomes Baptista, a representative of the Porto School. Embracing his own aesthetic individualism, João Ferreira da Silva’s paintings exude a profound expression of his inner truth.
