Eduardo Eloy

Born in 1955, this artist received their education at the School of Visual Arts at Parque Lage, the Calouste Gulbenkian Municipal Educational Center, and the Museum of Modern Art – MAN RJ from 1976 to 1981. Currently based in Fortaleza, they create artwork focused on an intricate exploration of graphic arts, blending it with other visual languages such as drawing, painting, collage, and various materials sourced from their archives and collected from everyday life. Time, space, and memory are powerful themes that inform their work, which also finds new relationships through collaborative activities in educational projects, the training of young artists, and exchanges with cultural institutions. They have been exhibiting regularly since 1978, both in solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally. In 1985, they were awarded the Special Pietro Maria Bardi Prize at the 2nd Pirelli Painting Salon – MASP in São Paulo, and in 1983, they received an award in the mixed media category at the University of Fortaleza – UNIFOR Plastic Salon.
