Claudio Tozzi

Born in São Paulo in 1944, the artist began their artistic career in 1963 by participating in the XI Salon of Modern Art and winning the poster contest for the exhibition.

The following year, they enrolled in the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo, where they later worked as a professor. In 2001, they held their doctoral thesis exhibition at the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture (MUBE).

As a recognized artist, their extensive curriculum includes numerous exhibitions both in Brazil and abroad. They represented the country in biennials and international competitions, such as the Codex Latin American Prize in Buenos Aires (1968), the International Sports Biennial in Barcelona (1971), and the Brazilian representation at the Venice Biennale with a showcase at the Brazilian Pavilion. They also participated in the American Biennial of Cali, Colombia (1976) and had a solo exhibition at the XXI São Paulo Biennial. They were invited to the Makurazaki Biennial in Japan, where they received an Honorable Mention (1991).

Among the awards they have received are the Prize from the São Paulo Association of Art Critics (1973), the Guarantã Prize for international travel from the Brazilian Association of Art Critics (1975), and the 1st prize in the Quota de Arte competition (2002).
