Carlos Eirão

Born in Penalonga, Vila Real, in 1961, this artist studied Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon and Engraving at the Portuguese Engravers Cooperative, Lisbon. They obtained a Master’s degree in Art Theories at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. Currently, they live and work as a painter and engraver in the city of Lisbon. They have held several collective and solo exhibitions, and in 1995, they were awarded an Honorable Mention at the 8th Spring Salon, Gallery of Casino Estoril, Estoril. In 1998, they received the Edition Prize at the V Biennial Engraving of Amadora, and in 2007, they were honored with an Honorable Mention at the III Biennial of Small Format Painting – Joaquim Madeira Prize, Alhos Vedros, Moita. The artist’s works can be found in the Lisbon City Council, Setúbal Museum, Amadora City Council, Engraving – Portuguese Engravers Cooperative, as well as in private collections.
