Canau Espadinha

Born in Gavião in 1963, this artist completed a degree in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon, where he was a scholar of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. His work focuses on medallic art and ceramics, and he also completed a Master of Arts in Fine Art in London as a scholar of the same foundation. In 2006, he had his doctoral project in Architecture, specifically in the field of Visual Communication, approved. He has held several solo and group exhibitions and has participated in various international biennials, including the “3rd International Experimental Engraving Biennial” at the Brancovan Palaces Cultural Center in Romania in 2008 and the XXX FIDEM in Colorado Springs, USA, in 2007. His works are included in numerous public and private collections in Portugal and abroad.
