A radiant lyricism is fulfilled in this screen printing artwork by Pinho Dinis, under the sign of the winding and harmonious lines of the female body, an inspiring motif of his work. Contrasts between pure colors and the counterpoint of blacks. Poetry, softness, and passion in a fragmented language of overlapping planes, without depth, which reconstructs, in smooth backgrounds, the charm and mystery of the visible.

Pinho Dinis

Born in Coimbra in 1921, this artist graduated from the National Society of Fine Arts, studying under the renowned painter Domingos Rebelo. Continuing his studies at the artistic circle Mário Augusto, he traveled to Spain, France, and Italy in 1950 to explore the major museums. Upon his return, he settled in Coimbra, where he conducted ceramic research with his friend Américo Dinis. In 1954, he moved to Porto, following the recommendation of Luís Reis Santos, to study fresco painting with the painter Dórdio Gomes at the School of Fine Arts. From 1957 to 1975, he lived in Brazil, periodically traveling to Europe to stay up to date with the latest movements in Modern Art. He started exhibiting individually in 1951 and his last exhibition, "Drawings and Gouaches," took place at the Minerva Gallery in Coimbra in 2005. He regularly participated in collective shows and received numerous awards, including the monetary prize at the Annual Salon of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (1959), an honorable mention at the Salon of Modern Art in Curitiba (1960), a bronze medal at the São Paulo Salon of Modern Art (1961), and a silver medal at the Annual Salon of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (1963).
