Partnership:
Artworks created under the theme of "Synthetic Aesthetics" based on the relationship between art and artificial intelligence.
Ken Rinaldo, born in New York in 1958, is a prominent figure in the international Bio Art movement, exploring the connection between art and technology. He is concerned with the impact of artificial intelligence on our perception of reality and nature, blurring the boundaries between the organic and inorganic. As a Robotics and Bio Art professor at Ohio University, Rinaldo has developed his own language and vocabulary, which is evident in the discourse accompanying his exhibition at Galeria António Prates, titled "Synthetic Aesthetics," an atmosphere in which the current artworks are situated. These exquisite digital prints evoke the fictional universes of Huxley's "Brave New World" or Orwell's "1984," a reality that has long surpassed fiction. They also bring to mind the surreal and visionary landscapes of French artist Yves Tanguy, with his composite and enigmatic creatures from a world with which Ken Rinaldo seems to have great affinity.
