Ana Ventura
Born in Lisbon in 1972, Ana Ventura is a diverse talent in the realms of illustration and visual arts. She earned her bachelor's degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon in 2000, with a focus on Printmaking. The year before, she had honed her skills in Printmaking, Illustration, and Painting during an internship at La Cambre School of Visual Arts in Brussels, Belgium. Ana has been showcasing her work both individually and in group exhibitions since 1996, not only in Portugal but also internationally.
Ana's artistic range is expansive, covering fields such as illustration, photography, unique collage characters she calls "Papelsonagens," and artistic vinyl designs. One of her most globally acknowledged projects was the customization of All Star sneakers in celebration of Converse's 100th anniversary in 2008.
Ana is active in conducting global workshops in the area of visual arts and has been a consistent contributor to various art galleries since 2006. Among her notable works are illustrations for the book "Nove storie sull'amore," the originals of which have been displayed in Italy, Spain, and Germany, as well as the book "Os Pensamentos não fazem barulho," published in Norway in 2013.
Selected for the Ilustrarte 2014 exhibition, Ana's body of work was featured in a retrospective show that took place from November 2013 to February 2014 at the Augusto Cabrita Municipal Auditorium in Barreiro. The exhibition included an extensive collection of her published works.
