The unique expression of Dolores Galvez, oscillating between painting and printmaking, is evident in these two works specifically created for printmaking. She has distinguished herself particularly in this medium and was awarded the 1st Prize in Printmaking "Carmen Arozena" in Spain in 2000. Wavy webs and lines bring the undulating fabric of colors to life in a play of simultaneous rhythms. The sea serves as inspiration in these works (S362; EX075; EX061; EX323; S408; EX165; G025; S416; G102; G105). In a country where the sea has always represented the "beyond borders," the desire to venture beyond the horizon, the discovery, and the dream imbued with its own demystification, the sea has always been a magical, enticing, and particularly inspiring theme.
