Branislav Mihajlovic
Born in Belgrade in 1961, the artist began drawing and painting at a young age. By the age of fifteen, they had already participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. They completed their studies in painting at the School of Fine Arts, University of Belgrade, in 1986, and obtained a master's degree in painting in 1989 from the same university. Over the years, they have held more than sixty collective and solo exhibitions in Yugoslavia, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Portugal. They have been awarded prizes in São Paulo, New Delhi, and Belgrade. Currently, the artist resides in Portugal. Their strong pictorial language is characterized by expressiveness and frequently utilizes the technique of combine painting, incorporating various materials beyond the conventional scope of painting, such as poems, wood, or books.
