Partnership:
Nuno Teixeira, an artistic director of magazines and newspapers, as well as a designer and creator of a multimedia publishing company, has been recognized with numerous international design and illustration awards. The artist now surprises us with a triptych inspired by the poetry of Cruzeiro Seixas. The presented serigraphs share the unsettling and lyrical atmosphere of the Master of Portuguese and European Surrealism, who remains one of the leading figures of 20th century Portuguese art. Against black backgrounds that evoke the depths of the unconscious, the enigmatic forms of this universe of paradoxes emerge - couples entwined in emptiness, chairs flying, and birds "tied to the moonlight". The animal kingdom adds wisdom to the perplexity of the human experience, always guided by love amidst its chaotic and lunar world. We can truly feel that this is the artist's own universe, as he too is "surprised by his own mystery," the driving force behind all these images.
