In honor of saxophonist Pharaoh Sanders (1940-2022), the artist presents a tribute work.
Kruella d'Enfer, also known as Ângela Ferreira (b. 1988), is often associated with street art and a fascination for the strange, the surreal, and the complex. However, in this serigraphy artwork, one can witness a departure from her usual style. Instead, it is a true celebration of the joyousness of life, as Almada Negreiros would put it, "the invention of a clear day." Here, Kruella reveals her genuine fascination for the treasures of the visible world, embracing both the humblest creatures of nature and the animal realm, as well as the vital and sovereign forms of the plant world. Symbolically, the red and blue sacred geometry of squares and circles represents the fusion of elements in harmony with the coexistence of day and night, signifying the union of the conscious and the unconscious.
