Duarte Belo (Lisbon, 1968) is a licensed architect (1991) who also ventures into photography. Since 1989, he has held numerous solo exhibitions and is represented in various public and private collections both in Portugal and abroad. In addition, he has experience in teaching and regularly participates in seminars, congresses, and roundtable discussions. Among his published works, notable titles include "Orlando Ribeiro - Followed by a Brief Trip to Serra da Estrela" (1999), "Ruy Belo - Things of Silence" (2000), "The Wind Over the Earth - Travel Notes" (2002), "On the Surface of Time - Journey to the Amazon" (2002), "Territory in Waiting" (2005), "Geography of Chaos" (2005), "The Templar Lands of Idanha" (2006), "Olívia and Joaquim - Santa Clara Sweets in Vila do Conde" (2007), "Cold Fire - The Capelinhos Volcano" (2008), "Train of Books" (2009), and he also created, produced, and photographed the illustrations for the tale "The Sweet Orange Bear Prince" (2009). Another notable publication is "City of the Oldest Name" (2010). His extensive documentary work focuses on capturing the landscape and forms of territorial occupation. Notable works in this genre include "Portugal - The Taste of the Land" (1997) and "Portugal Heritage" (2007-2008). This project on Portugal has resulted in a personal photographic archive with over nine hundred thousand images.
