Sublime Nature
The photographs of Foz Coa by Duarte Belo, son of the great poet Rui Belo, in the noble tradition of black and white, are associated with the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of the Portuguese Serigraphy Center. It is the author himself who establishes this connection, in a poetic reflection on the image. He believes that "the rock engravings of Foz Côa are unique representations of life and time. In them lies the essence of the image as the primordial form of what we currently call Art. The desire to acquire what is represented, the sublimity of language that detaches from consciousness when we realize the finitude of life." The image allows us to capture time, returning to it the eternity that justifies and redeems it, suggested in this beautiful collection that evokes the sublime of nature itself.
