iLAND In Health 2018

MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology) Lisbon, Portugal

This artwork showcases a digital collage addressing urgent environmental concerns. It features data and aerial images sourced from NASA, as well as various Governmental Environmental Agencies and NGO's. This collage has been transformed into a captivating tapestry, specially commissioned for the prestigious Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT) in Lisbon.

Renowned artist, Regina Frank, further brought this artwork to life through her captivating performance at the WebSummit in Lisbon in 2018. For 77 minutes each day, she moved at an astonishingly slow pace amidst the bustling atmosphere of the event. When captured and viewed as a time-lapse film, her movement appeared to be at a normal speed, while the viewers and participants at the WebSummit appeared to be moving at a heightened pace of 1000% faster.

During moments when Regina was not performing, an Augmented Reality (AR) version of her was present, creating an intriguing blend of the physical and digital realms. Additionally, a virtual garden of sustainable and highly effective healing plants, such as hemp and curcuma, bloomed on the tapestry, adding a touch of enchantment and serenity to the overall artwork.

Experience this thought-provoking artwork, which seamlessly combines technology, nature, and performance, at the virtual gallery.
