The Sea Poem

This print by Humberto Marçal is part of a series that was exhibited at the CPS Gallery in CCB under the title "The Sea Poem". Humberto Marçal, a master of Portuguese printmaking, reaches the pinnacle of existence in an incessant dialogue with the image, of which he is a great creator, extracting from the paper the flickerings of an alchemy that returns it to the gold of a perennial gaze. The artist's gift transforms the paper support into an ocean that exceeds its limits. An ocean that has the colors and light of a rainbow palette that acquires an energy and enchantment from the realm of the marvelous. In this magnificent series of intervened prints, Humberto Marçal offers us a legacy that unites Life and Art in an indissoluble and magical bond.
