SPECIAL EDITION CPS 30 YEARS
A COSMOLOGICAL VIEW
Cristina Ataíde (b.1951), sculptor, painter, designer, and graphic artist who was born in Viseu and lives and works in Lisbon, has been exhibiting regularly since 1984. Her work has encompassed photography and video. With a degree in Sculpture from ESBAL, she specialized in Equipment Design. As the production director of Sculpture and Design at "Madein", Alenquer, from 1987 to 1996, she worked with Anish Kapoor, Michelangelo Pistolleto, Keit Sonnier, and Matt Mullican.
This serigraphy work reveals her multidisciplinary formation, which translates into the ability to express a cosmological vision that integrates the Cosmos and Chaos, order and disorder, in images with great optical power and intense chromatic and luminous vibration. It is a simultaneous poetic and plastic synthesis.
