FABLES FOR ADULTS by Gabriel Garcia (b.1977) showcases his dedication to painting, drawing, graphic work, sculpture, and installation. His artistic journey intertwines various influences, drawing from the founding strands of 20th century art such as expressionism, metaphysical painting, surrealism (1924), and narrative figuration. Additionally, his work is heavily influenced by the mythologies of consumer society, which emphasize the power of images in reproducing both reality and its own fiction. Cinema, magazines, the internet, and the world of fables and children's stories also play a significant role in Garcia's prints, captivating viewers with their freshness, apparent innocence, and humor in representation.
