Claudio Tozzi, born in 1944, is part of a generation of Brazilian avant-garde artists with international recognition who claim a connection to tradition. His interdisciplinary background is evident in his studies of Philosophy, Sciences, and Literature at the University of S. Paulo (1956-1962), followed by his course in Architecture and Urbanism at the same university. Like other international artists associated with Pop Art and Nouveau Réalisme, Tozzi created his own vocabulary of signs inspired by the everyday, but imbued them with a new meaning on a metaphorical and symbolic level. In this artwork, the emblematic tension of space-time in his creation is reflected, blending abstract and geometric concepts of space with a subtle combination of cool and warm tones, resulting in an imaginary perspective born from both rational and intuitive movements.
