Glimpses by Colombian artist Guillermo Vellez is a series that showcases the mastery of its creator. Executed without any prior studies, each layer is directly drawn onto the silk screen, resulting in a frieze of immense dramatic intensity and suggestive chromaticism punctuated by blacks. These tormented images remind us of important references in contemporary art, such as Francis Bacon, as well as a gallery of expressive characters with a timeless human face that Goya captured in his engravings.
