Telmo Alcobia's artwork transports us to an Admirable New World, reminiscent of Aldous Huxley's novel and George Orwell's "1984". As a meticulous painter with a strong artistic background (holding a degree in painting, a master's in drawing, and training in scientific drawing and pre-Columbian drawing workshops), Alcobia's work seems to illustrate the utopian melancholy of these literary works, while also creating a unique universe that is influenced by comic books and graphic arts. This personal universe simultaneously expresses collective fears and tells the story of an urban experience filled with all our discontentments.
