Partnership:
A linocut print with handwritten text by the artist:
"Once upon a time, there was a turtle who didn't know how to play checkers, and that's what is expected of all turtles. She might even be forgiven if she were taken by the eccentricity of poker. But it was definitely her fault because she didn't make any effort."
SERIES "THE MISFITS"
FROM LIFE TO FABLE
Painter and illustrator, Maria João Worm creates in her current series of linocut prints a whole array of characters from the grand fable of life, whose meaning is "borrowed" from some figures of the animal kingdom. Her "misfits" are nothing more than the protagonists of a rebellion that is all too familiar to us, that of all those who refuse to follow the stereotypes imposed by a materialistic and stifling society.
