Artur Moreira

Born in Espinho in 1946, this artist graduated in Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, where he later became a professor. He also taught at E.U.A.C. (Coimbra University School of Arts) and in free courses at C Arte S. João da Madeira. He has exhibited individually in cities such as Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Espinho, S. João da Madeira, and Barcelos, and has participated in collective exhibitions such as ESBAP - "European Exhibition of University Drawing" in Lisbon; "Biennial of New Artists" at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Famalicão; "1st Exhibition of Arts by the Porto City Council"; "2nd Biennial of Drawing" at Coop. Árvore in Porto; "8 Images of the Memorial"; "National Exhibition of Plastic Arts Commemorating the Centenaries of the Death of Soares dos Reis and the Birth of Diogo de Macedo" at the Teixeira Lopes Museum House in V.N. de Gaia; "2nd Contemporary Art Forum" in Lisbon; "3rd Biennial of Sculpture and Drawing" in Caldas da Rainha; "5th Exhibition of Plastic Arts AIP, Exponor; "Eleven Artists from Porto" in Coimbra; "Expo98, Form and Personality" at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon; "Complicities" in Brazil; "88 Readings on Macau" in Macau; "National Sculpture Prize" in Santa Maria da Feira; "Coventry Porto Art Exchange 96" in Coventry and Porto; "The Human Figure in Portuguese Sculpture of the 20th Century" in Porto; and Exhibitions "Amadeo de Souza Cardoso Prize" in Amarante.
