Artwork created by the robot RAP*
RAP (Robotic Action Painter), created in 2006 by Leonel Moura for the Museum of Natural History in New York, is an individualistic artist and not a swarm, but uses the same composition methods based on stigmergy and emergence. Additionally, this robot is capable of determining, on its own, the moment when the painting is finished.
Continuing his very particular and innovative conception of art that implies the relationship between art and science, Leonel Moura, who integrates himself in the international context of Bio Art, of which he is the main exponent among us, presents us today with the multiple DOTBOT, in four versions. The artist explains the rare connection between conception and error at the base of the stain technique present in the current serigraphy, a process "invented" by RAP the robot that is located at the Museum of Natural History in New York. The four drawings that originated these works, created by one of his robot painters, using the CMYK base: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, offer us optical effects of great energy and disturbing fascination.
