The Colorful Houses by Irene Buarque
The pure colored geometry present in Irene Buarque's series of prints entitled "Box" takes us to a serenity supported only by the joy that the color and the movement of the rigorous forms in construction and deconstruction communicate to us. Boxes or houses, dwellings of a sunny and contagious clarity, evoking the cosmogonic power of forms, nature, and our own nature, in unison, a creative impulse that brings to mind the wise words of Almada Negreiros: "Joy is the most serious thing in life."
