In these engravings, Serrão de Faria asserts the plasticity of the horse, a constant motif in his paintings, by contrasting the light that animates the figures with the shadows that surround it. In doing so, he suggests the freedom, vital impulse, and mystery of a powerful symbol of the unconscious. The artist's compositions capture the essence of the horse, inviting viewers to ponder its significance and explore the depths of the subconscious. Through his skilled use of light and shadow, Serrão de Faria creates a captivating and thought-provoking artwork that resonates with the viewer's imagination.
