Filipe Abranches
Born in Lisbon in 1965, this artist studied Film Directing at the Superior School of Theater and Cinema. In the early 90s, they began their regular activity in comics, contributing to the LX Comics magazine and collaborating with the Amok collective in Paris and the Freon collective in Brussels. They have also worked with various newspapers such as Público, Le Monde, and O Independente, as well as magazines and albums including História de Lisboa and O Diário de K., Solo. Currently, they illustrate for Expresso and are in production of an animated short film titled "Pássaros". In addition to their artistic practice, they are a professor in the Illustration/Comic Art department at Ar.Co and the Fine Arts School of Porto - Guimarães campus.
