Miguel João Pinheiro Soares Rocha was born in Lisbon in 1968. He spent most of his childhood in Alhandra and later returned to the capital where he spent his youth. He studied at the António Arroio School and the National Society of Fine Arts between 1994 and 1996.
Since 1999, he has been working in comic books, illustration, and theater. He has published several books, stories, and comic books both in Portugal and abroad. He made his debut as a comic book author in 1997. He regularly participates in exhibitions and has received various awards for his comic book stories, particularly at the Amadora BD - International Comic Book Festival of Amadora (FIBDA), which dedicated a retrospective exhibition to him in 2001. In the year 2000, he won the Best Portuguese Album of the Year award at FIBDA. He also won the Best Artist of the Year award and in 2006, he won the Best Album, Best Artwork, Best Story, and Youth Award at FIBDA.
During the Amadora BD - International Comic Book Festival of Amadora (FIBDA), a retrospective exhibition was dedicated to him in 2001.
