Ilda Reis
Born in Lisbon on January 1, 1923, this artist studied at the António Arroio School of Decorative Arts and attended the Painting Course at the National Society of Fine Arts. They also studied Engraving and Serigraphy at "Gravura", where they also taught courses.
In the 1970s, they were a member of the Directorate of "Gravura" and the Technical Council. They were a scholarship holder of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in the years 1971/72 and 1979/80.
They have held several solo and group exhibitions and have received various awards, including: in 1972, the Gold Medal at the 3rd International Biennial of Engraving, Florence; in 1987, the 1st Prize at the 1st Biennial of Art, Grupo Dramático Povoense; in 1988, the Yugoslavia Prize, European Grand Prix of Arts and Letters, Nice; in 1990, Honorable Mention at the 4th Small Format Exhibition, Viragem, Cascais; and in 1994, the Edition Prize at the 4th Biennial of Engraving of Amadora. Their works are represented at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Secretary of State for Culture / Casa de Serralves, the Setúbal Museum, the National Development Bank, the City Museum, as well as in some foreign museums and private collections. They have been published several times by "Gravura" (Lisbon), Galeria Triângulo (Algés), Galeria Espiral, and the Portuguese Center for Serigraphy (Lisbon).
They passed away at the age of 75 in Lisbon in 1998.
