Luísa Nogueira
Luísa Nogueira holds a degree in Painting from the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon and a degree in Interior Design from IADE. She also received a diploma in Engraving from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. From 1974 to 1976 and 1979 to 1980, she was a scholarship holder from the Ministry of Culture, which allowed her to intern in Brussels. During this time, she attended courses in Ceramics (Ecole d'Art d'Ixelles) and Engraving (Royal Academy of Fine Arts), under the guidance of professors Claude Lyr, Emile Maens, Francis Brichet, Swyngedau, and Jorge Meuran.
Since 1976, Luísa has been exhibiting her work individually, starting with her first exhibition at Galerie 34 in Brussels. She has also exhibited at the Museum of Angra do Heroísmo (Angra do Heroísmo, Portugal), the Cooperative of Portuguese Engravers (Lisbon, Portugal), the Water Museum (Lisbon, Portugal), Pátio Alfacinha (Lisbon, Portugal), MAC - Contemporary Art Movement (Lisbon, Portugal), and the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Velas (S. Jorge - Azores).
She has also participated in various group exhibitions in prominent galleries such as Galeria S.Mamede (Lisbon, 1974), Mettiers d'Art de Ia Provence du Brabant (Brussels, 1975), Galerie L'Oeil Sauvage (Brussels, 1976), National Engraving Exhibition - Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon, 1977), Soares dos Reis Museum (Center for Contemporary Art - Porto, 1977), Contemporary Portuguese Art (Belgrade and Athens, 1977), Paper as Support and Current Perspectives of Portuguese Art, National Society of Fine Arts (Lisbon, 1983), Árvore Cooperative (Porto, 1984), Vila Nova de Cerveira Biennial (Vila Nova de Cerveira, 1984), João Hogan Gallery (Lisbon, 1991), "Glimpses of Côa", Municipality of Vila Nova de Castelo Rodrigo (Foz do Côa, 1998), among many other exhibitions throughout the country.
