Born in Lisbon in 1956, this artist attended the École Supérieur de Beaux-Arts in Paris. Alongside academic studies in painting, they also conducted research and practice in graphic design.
In 1986, they earned a degree in Plastic Arts, specializing in painting, from ESBAL. In 1988, they obtained a degree in painting from the Facultat Complutense de Bellas Artes in Madrid, Spain. That same year, they were selected for the Talleres de Arte Actual at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where they worked with Jose Luis Alexanco and Jose Guerrero.
In 1994, they completed their doctoral studies in painting at the Facultat Complutense de Bellas Artes in Madrid, focusing on New Pictorial Materials under the guidance of Jose Guerrero and Lucio Muñoz. In 2006, they obtained a Master's degree in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, specializing in Phenomenology and Hermeneutics, from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lisbon. Their thesis focused on Mark Rothko and the Times of Color.
In addition to their work in painting, this artist also engages in interior architecture, communication, graphic design, equipment design, and jewelry. They have been a grant recipient from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since the 80s, they have been exhibiting their work both nationally and internationally.
