Severino

Severino was born in Vieira do Minho in 1957. In 1979, he held his first painting exhibition. After his initial use of glass as a sculptural medium, in 1989 at the Fábrica-Stephens in Marinha Grande, he exhibited some of these works in Leiria. In 1991, he established his studio in Janas, Sintra and, after his first participation in the International Glass Sculpture Triennial in Liège, Belgium, in 1992, he became part of the permanent exhibition at the Liège Glass Museum with the sculpture "Vestiges". In 1995, he was awarded the acquisition prize at the Exposition Internationel de Verre in Alizay, France, and in 2000, he resumed systematic use of two-dimensional records, developing multidisciplinary projects. Born in Vieira do Minho in 1957, this artist began his artistic journey in 1979 with his first painting exhibition. As time went on, he discovered his passion for working with glass and started incorporating it into his sculptural pieces. His unique approach to glass caught the attention of art enthusiasts, leading to exhibitions of his works in various locations, including Leiria and Liège. In 1991, he established his own studio in Janas, Sintra, where he continues to create innovative pieces that push the boundaries of traditional glass art. His talent has been recognized internationally, with awards and accolades from prestigious events such as the Exposition Internationel de Verre. In addition to his sculptural work, he has also explored the realm of two-dimensional art, further expanding his artistic expression through multidisciplinary projects.
