Pedro Matos

Pedro Matos (1989) is recognized as one of the most promising names in Portuguese contemporary art. The foundation of his artistic practice is a continuous investigation into the ephemeral and decadent – ideas that the artist finds present both in the urban landscape and in nature itself, created through unconscious marks and gestures made by the human hand, as well as by natural phenomena. Through meticulous pieces, the artist has been exploring the intricate complexity of abstract textures and detailed fragments, situated on the barrier between abstraction and representation.

In 2015, as part of CPS’s 30th anniversary, he participated in the exhibition “1/81” at the Coa Museum, for which he created a serigraphy at the CPS Studio.
