Born in Lisbon in 1968, this artist finds inspiration in the city for their comic book albums, such as “Airbag” and “À esquina”. They have been illustrating since the 80s, working for publications like O Independente, O Público, and Ícon magazine.
Their works were first exhibited in 1992, as part of a collective exhibition at the BIENAL Jovens Criadores da Europa Mediterrânica in Valência. Years later, in 1998, they participated in the exhibition “Perdidos no Oceano” at the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d’Angoulême. In 2011, they were part of the group of artists featured in “Tinta nos Nervos: Banda Desenhada Portuguesa” at CCB / Museu Berardo in Lisbon. In 2014, their works were exhibited at “Quadradinhos: sguardi sul fumetto portoghese” at Palazzo Bomben / Fondazione Benetton, Treviso Comic Book Festival. And in 2015, their works were showcased at “Comics zur Lage der Welt” at Neurotitan Shop & Gallery in Berlin.
They have also held solo exhibitions, with their first one taking place in 2003, titled “Cidade em Chamas” at Salão Lisboa Comics Festival in Lisbon. Since then, they have exhibited at the Beja Comics Festival in 2009, presented “Crónicas de Arquitectura” at Mundo Fantasma gallery in Porto in 2013, also showcasing it in Lisbon the same year at Ordem dos Arquitectos gallery, and exhibited “Le Collectionneur de Briques” at pub La Souris Verte, Angoulême in 2018.
In their artistic journey, they have also published their drawings and works in various editions. Examples include “À Esquina”, written by João Paulo Cotrim, published by Campo das Letras in 2003, “Airbag e Outras Histórias”, edited by Mundo Fantasma / Bedeteca de Lisboa in the same year, and later published by MalEdizioni, Brescia, Italy, in 2013. They also published “Crónicas de Arquitectura” with Turbina / Mundo Fantasma in Porto in 2013, and “Le Collectionneur de Briques”
