Paco Aguilar was born in 1959 in Málaga. As a visual artist, he had his first painting exhibition in 1979. In addition to his abundant pictorial production, he worked with woodcuts, lithography, and illustration until the age of 21. It was at this age that he had his first contact with metal engraving, and just a year later, he opened his own printmaking workshop in Málaga called Gravura. From this workshop, he developed his work in the field of original graphic art in different lines of action, including self-editions and the teaching and promotion of techniques. Today, he is an undeniable reference in Spanish printmaking.
He has held over a hundred solo exhibitions, as well as numerous group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.
He has been awarded in numerous competitions and his artwork can be found in important collections, such as the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum collection.
