José Ribeiro

José Ribeiro was born in Abrantes in 1954. He graduated from the Painting and 20th Century Art History courses at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He is a member of the National Society of Fine Arts, the National Association of Plastic Artists, and the National Club of Plastic Arts.
In 1973, he attended the Decorative Arts Workshop in Saragoza, Spain. From 1976 to 1997, he worked as an illustrator and graphic designer. Since 1997, he has been based in Évora, where he currently resides, dedicating himself exclusively to painting.
He regularly participates in painting exhibitions since 1969, and has received several awards and honorable mentions. His work can be found in various public and private collections in Portugal, Spain, Japan, the USA, Canada, and Germany.
