Filipe Romão

Fiipe Romão was born in Lisbon in 1981 and currently lives and works in Sintra. He graduated in Fine Arts – Painting – from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon in 2008, after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts – Sculpture – from the same institution. In 2002, he also obtained a degree in Photography from the Technical School of Image and Communication (ETIC).

Throughout his career, Fiipe has been exploring various mediums such as drawing, painting, photography, and installation. Since 2006, he has regularly exhibited his work in both group and solo exhibitions. Some notable solo exhibitions include “Continuous Movement” at MU-SA – Sintra Arts Museum in 2022, “These Landscapes Do Not Exist” at the National Museum Soares dos Reis in Porto in 2019, and “From Places I’ve Never Been” at Galeria SETE – Contemporary Art in Coimbra in 2018. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including “Arriving at the Mouth of the Night” at the Coimbra Contemporary Art Center in 2022 and “STUDIOLO XXI, Drawing and Affinities” at the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation’s Center for Art and Culture in Évora in 2019.

Fiipe’s works can be found in both public and private collections, including the Norlinda and José Lima Collection, the Carmo Archaeological Museum, the ER Collection, and the Center for Judicial Studies, among others.
