Born in Macedo de Cavaleiros in 1943, the artist is a graduate in Painting from E.S.B.A.L. She works as a secondary school teacher and conducts printmaking research at the ateliers of Cooperativa Diferença. She was a grantee of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation from 1968 to 1971 and in 2000 she was awarded the “Amadora 20 Years” Prize at the VII Amadora Print Biennial 2000. Among the exhibitions she has held, the most recent ones include: in 1999, IV ANAP Exhibition, Aveiro Museum; “Portuguese Painting”, Contemporary on the eve of the XII Century – Embassy of Portugal – Brussels; in 2000, “Small Format” Exhibition, Rivoli, Porto; VII Biennial, 1st International Printmaking of Amadora and Embassy of Portugal, Brussels; in 2006, Art in the Plain, Monte do Cortiço. Her work can be found in public and private institutions.
