Ana Zanatti

Ana Zanatti was born in Lisbon in 1949. For the past 47 years, she has worked as an actress in theater, cinema, and television. Simultaneously, she was a presenter for RTP for 26 years. Besides her work in the performing arts, she is also a songwriter, radio and television program author and co-author, documentary and series creator, theater play translator, and published her first novel in 2003. She has published short stories and poems in various anthologies and has collaborated with newspapers and magazines, including the now-defunct weekly SETE, the literary magazine Os meus livros, and Biosofia, Elle, and Egoísta magazines, among others.

She is devoted to causes such as women’s rights (in 1984, she was one of the 25 women chosen to represent Portugal in Brussels by the Commission on Women’s Rights of the EEC), LGBT rights, nature conservation and environmental protection, human rights, and animal rights. She has received the Rede Ex Aequo Awards in 2009 and 2012 and the Arco-Íris Award in 2011.
