Born in Lisbon in 1959, the artist graduated in Philosophy in Porto. Since 1993, she has been exhibiting her work individually and has been recognized throughout her career with various awards, including the Júlio Resende National Painting Award in 1990, two honorable mentions at the Vª Nª de Cerveira Biennial in 1991 and 2003, the Amadeu de Souza Cardoso Award in 2005, Honorable Mention at the I National Painting Exhibition in Coimbra in 1988, and the 3rd National Painting Award – Boavista Football Club (1992).
